Young Wanderers Warriors roar

The Wanderers Warriors who participated in the Donosti Cup in Spain last year.

Formed in 2011, the Warriors are giving the well-established clubs a run for their money. The U13 team recently won the VW football tournament and are scheduled to go to Paris in May to participate in another showpiece.

The club’s head coach, Herold Matodzi, said the club had U6 up to U13 junior teams and they send them to international tournaments every year to compete.

“We [have] the best junior teams around, we are very professional,” he said.

“We do not compromise when it comes to quality, we set high standards for ourselves.”

Matodzi encouraged parents from the northern suburbs of Johannesburg to bring their children for trials. “We welcome any parent who wants to bring a child to the club. We do run trials, we will accommodate them.”
