Orange Grove resident and Miss Teen Commonwealth contestant Mpho Tepeanyega.

Orange Grove resident, Mpho Tepeanyega is going places and is looking to make a change in her community as one of the finalists of the Miss Teen Commonwealth South Africa pageant.

The 16-year-old from Rostec College entered the pageant to give young women a platform to become a voice for their local communities. Tepeanyega said, “The pageant empowers teenage girls with the knowledge to be young leaders of tomorrow and focus on leadership skills.”

Throughout the competition, the contestants will seek to make a change in their communities through charity. Tepeanyega said, “I want to give a voice to the voiceless. And want to work with and empower teenage girls who have fallen pregnant and help them by educating and supporting them.”

Tepeanyega is still on the lookout for sponsorship and is calling on the local community for help.
