15 held for various crimes


A total of 15 suspects were arrested between 25 and 30 June by the Norwood police for different crimes.

The suspects were arrested for offences ranging from shoplifting to malicious damage to property in various areas serviced by the Norwood Police Station.

The arrests are as follows:

  • 2 for shoplifting
  • 1 for assault common
  • 1 for assault with grievous bodily harm
  • 1 for robbery common
  • 2 for fraud
  • 1 for pointing of a firearm
  • 1 for business robbery
  • 1 for attempted carjacking
  • 4 for robbery with aggravating circumstances

“All the suspects appeared in court while others have paid bail. Police will continue arresting those caught on the wrong side of the law and investigation on those remaining in custody still continues,” said Norwood police spokesperson, Elliot Tshivhase.
