From Johannesburg, the auditions will move to Cape Town on the weekend of 13 and 14 May, followed by the third and last auditions in Durban on 20 May.

Contestants who reside outside Gauteng, Western Cape and KwaZulu-Natal can also enter the auditions by submitting videos of their show-stopping acts via an online submission form.

The 8th season of this most watched talent show will be screened on e.tv and Marlon Davids, managing director of the station, urged contestants to think outside the box and present their most quirky and creative acts to stand a chance to win the grand prize of R500 000.

“We have seen so many of our stars from over the years achieving so many great things and going on to perform alongside the world’s best artists in South Africa, to getting record deals overseas. We’re proud of what the show is unearthing,” Davids said.

Any contestants who arrive after midday will not be allowed to join the pre-audition queue and anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a chaperone throughout the entire pre-audition process on the day.
