Staying indoors does not only allow you to bond with your family, you can also catch up on activities you haven’t had chance to do in a while. Here are some fun activities you can do at home:
- Try a new recipe
There’s nothing quite like uncovering a new recipe – whether you’re experimenting with chilli and chocolate and orange chicken or sprinkling your coffee with a dash of rum. Inventing something you and your family’s taste buds have never experienced before will definitely be worth it. You could even compete with your friends to see who can come up with a new recipe that is not only original, but tastes delicious too.
- Give your home a make-over
With an epic playlist and plenty of helping hands, you’ll feel more than energised to make a change. Try moving around furniture for something fresh. You could also get rid of unwanted furniture or repurpose old furniture to make them look brand new and donate old clothing to charity.
- Have a movie night
The best thing about being stuck indoors is finally getting to watch the movie you’ve been meaning to watch for the past few months. Or even binge watching on an entire series. After all, there’s nothing wrong with throwing yourself on the sofa while indulging in your favourite snacks and only going to bed way after midnight. Who doesn’t like a little bit of old fashioned TV?
- Work out
Summer bodies are made in winter, right? So get up, do some squats, lunges and sit-ups and work on your summer-bod. Exercising will also keep you warm and make you forget about the cold weather. If you’re new to exercising or haven’t done it in a while, get the kids to join you to make it feel less strenuous. The cool thing about doing home exercises is that it can be completed while you’re cleaning, watching tv or Skyping a relative.
- Host a pyjama party
Yes, adults can have a classic pyjama party too. Follow it up with hot chocolate or a midnight s’more and its nostalgia. You could have a video game tournament amongst your friends and snack all night without feeling guilty. Karaoke can also be on the cards for the night – just ensure you do not wake the neighbours!
Don’t let the weather get you down! Staying indoors can be fun and rewarding especially if you’re spending it with family and friends or catching up on your beauty sleep. As much as having fun is essential to a winter stay-in, having home insurance is just as important especially if your guests gets carried away during the dancing contest and end up ruining a precious piece of furniture.
