13 arrested for different crimes

Norwood police arrested 13 suspects between 21 and 28 July for committing various unlawful acts in the parts of Joburg east.

Spokesperson for Norwood Police Station, Captain Elliot Tshivhase said the suspects were arrested for different crimes.

The arrests were as follows:

  • 1 for reckless and negligent driving
  • 1 for housebreaking
  • 1 for housebreaking and possession of stolen property
  • 1 for assault in a domestic violence incident
  • 1 for assault with intent to do grievous bodily harm
  • 1 for intimidation
  • 1 for common robbery
  • 1 for hit and run
  • 2 for warrant of arrests
  • 3 for shoplifting.

“All suspects will appear in court while others have paid bail. Police will continue to arrest those caught on the wrong side of the law,” said Tshivhase.
