On 19 October, dedicated members of the Johannesburg Flying Squad police officer were rewarded for their outstanding efforts in the battle against criminals.
Members were awarded certificates and trophies in an award ceremony held at Rietvlei Zoo Farm in Johannesburg.
According to the spokesperson for the Johannesburg Flying Squad Sergeant Desmond Subramoney, this is a day to celebrate and honour members of their police squad,
to recognise them for their hard work and dedication in the fight against crime as well as their commitment to keeping our communities in Gauteng safe. “These are the men and women in blue who stood out as being truly dedicated to their calling and excelled in the execution of their duties, their commitment to uplift needy communities and who perform acts of exceptional bravery.
“Also, we awarded the North Eastern Tribune journalist Thabo Jobo for his commitment and dedication to note our appreciation towards the South African Police Service and Johannesburg Flying Squad.”
The Gauteng Police Emergency Services co-ordinator Lieutenant Colonel Eddie Mashele and Johannesburg Flying Squad unit commander Lieutenant Colonel Erasmus congratulated all nominees, winners and rewarded them with certificates and trophies for their outstanding efforts.
The event was a huge success with members playing games together as part of a team-building spirit and to further strengthen a good working relationship, concluded Subramoney.
